Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 45 g chicken noodle instant soup
  • 1 cup water
  • 425 g canned tuna drained flaked
  • 1 tbs butter
  • 2 tbs plain flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp curry powder *to taste
  • 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup cheese grated

Instructions

  • Cook rice and set aside.
  • Cook chicken noodle soup in the water.
  • Add tuna.
  • Melt butter in small saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in the flour.
  • Slowly stir in the milk to make a white sauce, then return to heat until thick.
  • Add curry powder.
  • Mix sauce with tuna mixture.
  • In a greased casserole dish, place a layer of rice, then a layer of tuna, another layer of rice and then tuna.
  • Sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
  • Sprinkle with a layer of grated cheese.
  • Bake at 180C for 30 minutes.
