Black Friday started in the United States as the day following Thanksgiving Day and traditionally marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. On this day, most major retailers open extremely early, often at 4 a.m., or earlier, and offer promotional sales to kick off the shopping season, similar to Boxing Day sales.

As of 2009, Black Friday has been spreading accross Canada, specially in Ontario and the southern provinces, providing great discounts as a mean to discourage customers to cross the border to benefit from this special Shopping Day. Of course this is great news, as it means more big sales and savings for us!

Nowadays Black Friday is a Major Sales Event all over the country and keeps getting traction year after year. It is always an incredible occasion to get great prices just before Christmas time with discounts spreading not only "on the date" but really all the month of November.

We rarely see in Canada the kind of crowd madness that our neighbors have been known for, but looking for the best deals throughout the month always gives us more room to shop quietly, compare prices, and get the most out of our money safely and without too much added stress.
