Ingredients

  • 30 Frozen wonton wrappers, thawed (about ½ of a 454-g box)
  • 1.5 L (6 cups) sodium-reduced chicken broth
  • 30 mL (2 tbsp.) soy sauce
  • To taste, chopped green onions for garnish
  • 200 g (7 oz.) ground pork
  • 60 mL (¼ cup) chopped mushrooms
  • 60 mL (¼ cup) canned water chestnuts, chopped
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 15 mL (1 tbsp.) soy sauce

Instructions

  • Combine all filling ingredients in a bowl. 
  • Place about 5 mL (1 tsp.) of filling on each wonton wrapper.
  • Moisten wonton edges with water.
  • Fold wrapper in half to form a triangle.
  • Moisten the two opposite corners, fold toward each other toward the middle.
  • Bring broth and soy sauce to a boil in a saucepan, add wontons, and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Serve soup garnished with green onion.
