Salted Caramel Sauce Recipe

Salted Caramel Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup Silk Vanilla Almond Creamer
  • 2 Tbsp margarine (or coconut oil)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2-1 tsp sea salt, to taste

Instructions

  • Stir together sugar, water and lemon juice in a small saucepan.
  • Place pan over medium heat and cook for 12-15 minutes, without stirring, until mixture turns a rich amber color. Remove from heat.
  • NOTE: Be careful not to overcook as sugar will go from amber to burnt very quickly.
  • Add Silk, stirring while mixture furiously bubbles. Stir until smooth.
  • NOTE: If mixture clumps, return to heat and stir until smooth.
  • Add margarine, vanilla and sea salt. Stir to combine.
  • Serve immediately, or refrigerate and reheat when needed.
  • NOTE: Try drizzling on ice cream, pie and cheesecake, or toss with popcorn.
