Ingredients

  • 1 lb. (450 g) Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 Tbsp. Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 cups 25%-less-sodium chicken broth
  • 1-1/2 cups instant white rice, uncooked
  • 1 can (398 mL) Heinz Chili Style Red Kidney Beans, undrained
  • 1-1/2 cups Cracker Barrel Shredded Tex Mex Cheese, divided

Instructions

  • 1. Remove casings from sausage, if necessary; crumble sausage into large skillet sprayed with cooking spray. Add onions and garlic; cook 10 min. or until sausage is evenly browned, stirring occasionally. Drain sausage mixture; return to skillet. Add tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce and paprika, cook and stir 2 min.
  • 2. Stir in chicken broth; bring to boil, stirring occasionally. Add rice; mix well. Cover; simmer on medium-low heat 8 to 10 min. or just until rice is tender.
  • 3. Add beans and half the cheese; cook, uncovered, 2 to 3 min. or until heated through, stirring frequently. Top with remaining cheese; cook 1 to 2 min. or until melted.
