Ingredients

  • Salt
  • 1 pound Compliments Spaghetti
  • 1/2 pound Safeway SELECT® Artisan Como Bread, cut into chunks
  • 2 tablespoons Compliments Butter
  • 11/2 cups Compliments Chicken Broth
  • 1 can (3.8 ounces) Compliments Ripe Sliced Olives, drained
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
  • 2 tablespoons Sensations Extra Virgin 100% Olive Oil
  • 2 cans Sensations Solid White Albacore Tuna in Water, drained
  • 2 tablespoons minced Compliments Organics Fresh Chives

Instructions

  • In a 5 to 6-quart pan, bring 3 quarts of salted water to a boil over high heat.
  • Add spaghetti and cook until pasta is tender to bite, about 12 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, whirl bread in a food processor until coarse crumbs form. 
  • Melt butter in a 12-inch nonstick frying pan over medium-high heat. 
  • Add bread and cook, stirring often, until crumbs are lightly toasted, 9-10 minutes. 
  • Watch carefully so they don’t burn. 
  • Remove from heat and transfer to a plate.
  • Wipe frying pan clean and return it to high heat. 
  • Add broth, olives, garlic, and 2 tablespoons olive oil.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 2 minutes.
  • When spaghetti is done, drain it well then return it to its cooking pan. 
  • Add the hot broth mixture along with the tuna, toasted bread crumbs, and chives. 
  • Mix well then transfer to a serving bowl and serve immediately. 
  • Offer additional olive oil to drizzle over portions to taste.
