Ingredients

Marinade

  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Crisco® Vegetable Oil
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) soy sauce
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) black pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced or 1 teaspoon (5 mL) dried garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 lb (750 g) boneless top round steak, 3/4"  to 1" (2 cm to 2.5 cm) thick

Instructions

  • Combine marinade ingredients in a shallow baking dish. Add meat, turning to coat all surfaces.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight, turning occasionally.
  • Prepare grill or heat broiler.
  • Remove meat from marinade. Discard marinade. Grill or broil to desired doneness, turning once.
  • Let stand for 8 to 10 minutes. Cut diagonally into very thin slices.
