Ingredients

  • 2 onions, cut lengthwise in half, then crosswise into thin slices
  • 4 cloves garlic , thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup 25%-less-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 boneless pork shoulder (3 lb./1.4 kg)
  • 1 bottle (425 mL) Bull's-Eye Bold Original Barbecue Sauce

Instructions

  • Place onions and garlic in slow cooker.
  • Add broth.
  • Combine next 4 ingredients; rub onto meat.
  • Place in slow cooker; cover with lid.
  • Cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours (or on HIGH 5 to 6 hours).
  • Remove meat from slow cooker, leaving sauce in slow cooker.
  • Remove and discard any large pieces of fat from meat.
  • Shred meat with 2 forks.
  • Return meat to slow cooker.
  • Stir in barbecue sauce.
  • Cook, covered, on LOW 15 min.
