Ingredients

  • 60 mL (¼ cup) slivered almonds
  • 5 mL (1 tsp.) brown sugar
  • 4 Berber fig breads
  • 180 mL (¾ cup) plain hummus
  • 6 radishes, thinly sliced (marinated* if you like)
  • 60 mL (¼ cup) black olives, sliced
  • To taste, arugula

Instructions

  • Sauté almonds in a hot skillet for about 2 minutes until toasted.
  • Add brown sugar and allow mixture to caramelize.
  • Spread an equal amount of hummus onto each Berber bread and garnish with black olives, sliced radish, caramelized almonds, and a few arugula leaves.
  • For maximum flavour, grill the sandwiches.
