Ingredients

  • ¾ Cup Softened Butter
  • ¾ Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/3 Cup Molasses
  • 1 Teaspoon Fresh Ginger, Grated
  • 2 Teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1 ½ Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 Cups All-purpose Flour
  • 2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ Teaspoon Salt

Icing Recipe:

  • 1 ½ Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons Heavy Cream
  • 1 Tablespoon Milk
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

Cookie Method:

  • Cream together butter and sugar
  • Add egg, fresh ginger, molasses,
  • Add dry ingredients
  • Chill dough overnight
  • Roll 1/8” thick
  • Cut into gingerbread men
  • Bake 325F 10-12 minutes

Icing Method:

  • Mix all using paddle about 10 minutes
  • Add food coloring if desired
  • Pipe onto cooled cookies
