Ingredients

  • 1 package (680 g) Flamingo chicken burgers
  • 7 hamburger buns of your choice
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) melted butter
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) olive oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut in strips
  • 1 French shallot, finely minced
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 10 ml (2 tsp.) chili powder
  • 5 ml (1 tsp.) paprika
  • 5 ml (1 tsp.) lemon juice
  • 60 ml ( cup) mayonnaise with tsp. Tabasco sauce (if desired)
  • 2 tomatoes, finely sliced
  • 1 small red onion, finely sliced
  • Curled lettuce

Instructions

  • Preheat oven and cook burgers according to instructions on packaging.
  • Heat up frying pan over high heat with olive oil, add bell pepper strips and shallot. Cook and stir for two minutes; add garlic, chili, paprika and lemon juice and cook for two more minutes. Set aside.
  • Brush the inside of buns with butter and toast.
  • Top each bun with a cooked burger, Tabasco mayonnaise, sauted bell pepper and lettuce, tomato and onion slices.
