The Fairbanks Law Office is a family law practice beginning with James Fairbanks, Q.C. who graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 1933.

He was joined by his son, Bill, who graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 1969 and his son, Sandy, in 1971, who also received his law degree from the University of New Brunswick.

In 1982 Sandy was appointed Crown Prosecutor and left the firm.

James Fairbanks was with the firm until his death in 1983.Bill continues in the firm.
