The company was established in 1978 by Bruce Robinson and operated as Bruce's Landscaping (1978) Ltd.

In 1999 Jim Short purchased the shares in the company and in 2001 changed the name to BLS Asphalt Inc.

The Company has since expanded into major commercial / industrial asphalt paving construction and large commercial landscape projects.

BLS Asphalt is involved in asphalt paving and landscaping projects in both the private and public sectors.

BLS Asphalt's clients include the City of Regina, several goverment of Saskatchewan departments, the University of Regina, the Wascana Centre Authority and various private contractors and developers throughout the province.

BLS has also completed several seal-coating and hydro-seeding projects.

In 2005 BLS added an Aggregate Processing Division with the purchase of a complete crushing spread becoming a wholesale commercial / industrial supplier of aggregate.

In 2013, BLS added a state of the art Asphalt Plant to its impressive line of equipment. In 2014, BLS will be manufacturing and supplying its own asphalt at its Mill Street location.
