It all started in 1976 when Herman Visser decided to change careers as a lab technician in Powell River, BC. Herman, who had also been working as a part-time locksmith, and his wife decided to return to their Lethbridge roots, partly because of the community and partly because of family.

No sooner had he opened his shop at 413, 2 Ave S that son David started working after school and weekends. Mark joined the team six months later.

That was before the days of journeyman locksmiths and the sons learned the trade from their father and through experience.

Extra training was obtained at trade fairs and annual industry meetings.

David and Mark are both Certified Journeyman Locksmiths, and are actively involved in the Alberta apprenticeship training program.

The present location at 245E - 12A St N has about 3,500 square feet, about double their previous location; and the solid floor means extra display space for stock, especially heavy safes. As well, there is adequate room to work on vehicles inside.
