St. Maurice Daycare is a licensed, non-profit Catholic child care facility , supported by St. Vital Roman Catholic Church.
We provide an environment that promotes healthy learning in an atmosphere permeated by Gospel values for children ages 12 weeks to 12 years.
The center is open Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm and is located in the Fort Garry area of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
We are proud to work closely with St. Vital Parish and St. Maurice School on a daily basis.
We believe that continuing this partnership is a benefit for our children and families as they grow from infant to teen.
Our center includes programs such as Infant and Preschool care, Before and After School, including in-service, Spring Break, Christmas Break and Summer Camp.
Inclusion is an important aspect of our program and all children are welcome regardless of type or level of individual need.
Our staff consists of professional Early Childhood Educators, Early Childhood Educators in training and Child Care Assistants.
Our staff are continually upgrading and participating in workshops that help grow and lead the way as Early Childhood Educators.
St. Maurice Daycare uses an emergent curriculum in its program.
Emergent Curriculum is a child–centered approach to daily planning.
The daily activities are planned by observing children’s actions and interests, documenting and providing the children with activities that would expand and develop the interest they have shown.
We also provide learning opportunities on spiritual-moral development of children through the Born of the Spirit Catechetical Program, Catechism of Good Shepherd and the inclusion of Virtues.
