The Ontario Asphalt Pavement Council is a Council of the Ontario Road Builders' Association (ORBA).

As of January 1, 2017, the Ontario Hot Mix Producers Association (OHMPA) was amalgamated with ORBA.

ORBA was formed in 1927 and has been the voice of the road building industry, representing the interests of contractors and goods and service providers, which employ over 30,000 workers.

OHMPA was formed in 1974, and served as the respected voice for hot mix asphalt producers on all subjects affecting the asphalt industry and members’ businesses.

As the Asphalt Pavement Council of ORBA, we now have one unified voice to support our members.

ORBA OAPC producer and asphalt cement supplier members include all major asphalt producers and asphalt cement suppliers across Ontario.

Producer members represent over 95 percent of all the hot mix asphalt (HMA) producers in the province of Ontario.

The asphalt industry of Ontario supports the province’s $37 billion construction industry.

Ontario’s asphalt producers and contractors employ approximately 30,000 workers during peak construction season, which is March through October.

During this period, an estimated $8.1 billion in total employment income is created by the asphalt industry.
