Chatters Canada is a franchisor and privately owned 100% Canadian company in its twentieth year of operation. Chatters was founded by Ken Fisher who later merged with Jason Volk, founder of the Green Apple Hair Company. Fisher was a stylist and platform artist with extensive leasing expertise. Volk was skilled in salon business techniques, financial management and advertising/marketing. The combination of their business acumen and salon entrepreneurship was a catalyst for record breaking success in the salon industry.

Chatters Salons began in 1988 with a few styling stations and modest retail component. In the 1990's, a beauty trend emerged that saw customers experience a new self awareness which in turn created an increased demand for beauty products and services. To keep pace with the fashion industry, Fisher and Volk developed a plan to increase the retail square footage of all Chatters salons, creating a retail store that offered thousands of beauty products all under one roof.

This high fashion concept pushed the boundaries of the conventional family salon, offering meticulous merchandising in a prestige retail environment. In order to do this, Chatters forged alliances with industry giants, enabling Chatters to offer the leading professional beauty brands at the best prices.

Today, Chatters Canada is the largest provider of beauty products in Canada and an industry leader. Its 95 salons span 7 provinces with a mix of corporate and franchise locations.
