Growth is something that is achieved over time with a lot of hard work and determination.

Art’s Landscaping was established in 1964 in Goderich, Ontario, when Art Bourdeau moved his family from Windsor to Goderich to work as a fulltime welder at Champion Road Machinery.

By 1968, Art had worked his way up to a Supervisor position as well as President of Local 1863 of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers Union.

However, during the evenings and weekends, Art was busy landscaping and snowplowing on the side.

In 1974, Art left his full time job at Champion and went into business for himself.

Art and Dorothy’s son, Rick Turner, has worked full time at Art’s Landscaping since 1977.

Today, Art and Dorothy, Rick and his wife, Joanne, continue to run the business and it has grown to provide a full range of services including asphalt paving, concrete, retaining walls, fencing, underground irrigation systems, trucking, a retail garden centre.

A former one-man operation now employs over 30 full time and seasonal employees.

Art sums it all up, “Art’s Landscaping - Homeowners are looking for a name they can trust and company that is good at what they do.”
